What in the World is Algebra?
Middle School (Grades 6-8)
Service Description
What was the world like before we had Algebra? In this workshop students take a quick tour of the history of math to see where modern math “language” came from, and why things work the way they do in Algebra. Next, they survey the "big picture" and learn that Algebra is just an extension of Arithmetic, not a scary new world! The rules and processes of Arithmetic from middle school math can be used to solve for unknowns in Algebra. Your student will learn that the world of Algebra is a place where they learn to use what they already know to do new and exciting things. ________________ No additional purchases necessary. We provide all curriculum, handouts, activities, and resources.
